Strategic Mine Planning Lead

This is an outstanding opportunity to drive technical leadership, continuous improvement, and governance in guiding the short-term and tactical mine direction. You will be responsible for leading a team of Mine Scheduling Specialists ensuring safe, accurate, and executable designs that enable delivery against key targets.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in open-cut coal operations and a specialisation in dragline and dozer push planning and optimisation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the execution of the site's dragline design strategy across multiple horizons.
  • Preparing and presenting pit designs, dig sequencing, and reserves to ensure tactical direction is fit-for-purpose, clearly communicated, and aligned across teams.
  • Driving performance and continuous improvement through management of performance, problem solving, and improvement projects.
  • Strengthening team capability through people development and training on dragline and dozer-specific principles and software.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of dragline mechanics and sequencing, as well as proficiency in mine planning softwares such as Deswik, Vulcan, Spry, and XPAC. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration are also essential.
