About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Bunnings, a leading retailer of home improvement and lifestyle products in Australia and New Zealand.

As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects related to Supply and Install.

You will form part of the Commercial & Trade function, reporting to the National Installations Services and Compliance Manager based at the Bunnings Support Office.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in an Estimator role or similar within the Building and Construction industry, along with a strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, materials, labour rates, and construction methods Australia-wide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all cost estimates are precise and based on thorough analysis.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, labour rates, and material costs to produce informed estimates.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Foster effective communication with S&I Solution Specialists, subcontractors, suppliers, to ensure alignment on project expectations.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports that provide insights into cost trends and project performance.

What We're Looking For:

  • Tertiary qualification or Diploma of Building and Construction or similar desirable.
  • 3 – 5 years working as an Estimator within a building company responsible for whole of building take-off and estimates.
  • Experience with Take-Off software, such as BuildXact, BuilderTrend, including recipe development, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret plans and engineering.
  • Experience in preparing comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labour, and overhead for various construction projects, including residential and commercial builds.
