About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical to join our MRO Services team at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the prestigious C-17 A Globemaster Program, supporting the maintenance and repair of aircraft wheel and tyre assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specialized repair and overhaul of C-17 Aircraft Wheel and Tyre assemblies
  • General maintenance, modification, and troubleshooting responsibilities
  • Collaborate with industry teams
  • Report to the Maintenance Operations Manager
  • Work in a dynamic team environment
Essential Experience/Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical)
  • Sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework
  • Comprehensive understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures and regulations
  • Australian Citizenship to possess an Australian NV1 Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders
Desirable Experience/Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a maintenance certifier / trade supervisor
  • Prior experience or understanding of Back Shop processes and procedures
  • Good knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
  • Prior supervisory or leadership training
  • Working knowledge of computer-based maintenance management systems
  • C class driver's licence
Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (Negative Vetting One) sponsored by BDA.

Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
