About the Role

As a Community Support Worker based in our Muswellbrook Hub, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live independently and participate in their local community. This will involve working across community access supports and in our day programs, providing a range of services to assist clients to live actively, engage in meaningful opportunities, and participate in their community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients to live an active lifestyle and participate in their community through the delivery of person-centred programs
  • Assist with transportation of clients to the hub and/or appointments
  • Work to behaviour support plans by utilising positive behaviour strategies
  • Assist and support clients with personal and hygiene care, if required
  • Communicate with families about clients' progress
  • Maintenance of progress notes and record-keeping

About You

You are passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with disability. As a positive and energetic person, you want to contribute and provide exceptional support to our clients. You are a team player who loves working in a fun and dynamic environment. You have a flair for creativity and are organised, with the ability to engage, communicate, and build partnerships with people.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the Disability sector is desirable
  • Ability to support others with personal and hygiene care and happy for this to be part of your job
  • Personal qualities of resilience, empathy, and self-confidence
  • High levels of enthusiasm, initiative, and a positive attitude while acting with integrity, honesty, and respect
