Counsellor - Child Protection Specialist

As a senior role has become available in our Child Protection Counselling Service, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Child Protection Counsellor to join our collaborative and professional team.
Key Responsibilities- To provide specialist counselling and interventions to clients where child protection, violence, neglect and trauma incidents have occurred, with the aim of improving their emotional, social and mental wellbeing.
- To develop and implement trauma-informed interventions and responses, case coordination, client-focused advocacy, liaison and consultation across services to ensure clients receive the service they need, when they need it.
- A Social Work degree or Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated extensive postgraduate clinical experience in providing counselling, groupwork, parenting and case management interventions.
- Excellent knowledge of child protection issues, including relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Ability to engage effectively with difficult and involuntary clients.
- High-level communication and computer skills.
