Job Overview

Our Class Actions practice is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to specialize in First Nations and Native Title compensation work. Applicants from First Nations communities are particularly encouraged to apply.

  1. Engage in ongoing Native Title compensation applications, mining disputes, and broader advice to First Nation organizations.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with new clients.
  3. Collaborate with our team to provide exceptional service, demonstrating cultural competence when working with First Nations clients.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be a committed and enthusiastic individual with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law and a current Practicing Certificate.
  • More than 4 years post-admission experience in Native Title and/or working for First Nations clients, preferably with litigation experience.
  • Excellent technical legal and analytical skills, including a proven track record of producing high-quality legal work.
  • Exceptional influence and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately.
  • Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management, as well as working collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to listen, exercise sound judgement, and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Commercial acumen and a keen interest in key issues within the class actions sector.
  • Passion and a strong sense of social justice.
