Senior Design Engineer Job Summary">

Freedom Professional Services are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects in the power sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing substation protection and control/ SCADA/ substation automation systems from 11kV up to 400kV using AutoCAD. They will also be required to craft single line diagrams, AC & DC schematic drawings, panel general arrangements, panel wiring diagrams, switchgear termination/interconnection drawings, block cable diagrams/schedules, and perform cable specification/sizing calculations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing substation protection and control/ SCADA/ substation automation systems
  • Crafting single line diagrams, AC & DC schematic drawings, panel general arrangements, panel wiring diagrams, switchgear termination/interconnection drawings, block cable diagrams/schedules, and performing cable specification/sizing calculations
  • Generating PSL logic files and relay setting files for various relays
  • Working closely with other designers, construction professionals, and engineering teams
  • Liaising effectively with the Power Systems, Primary and Civil design departments

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in electrical protection and control system design, Substation Automation and SCADA system typically 8-10 years
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects within the power sector
  • Chartered Status (CEng) status with a professional body such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE)
