Culturally Sensitive Healthcare Role

This is a vital position within the Alcohol and Drug Service, where you will work closely with patients and their families to provide care that respects and values the unique cultural needs of our clients.

The successful applicant will be working in a busy multidisciplinary team, providing culturally safe and respectful care, liaising with key community organisations, particularly Aboriginal Community groups and services.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong communication and computer skills, including advocacy and negotiation. You will also require knowledge of drug and alcohol issues and harm reduction principles, as well as an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and health needs.

You will need to demonstrate ability to work effectively in a busy, multidisciplinary team, and have experience engaging with Aboriginal people in a healthcare setting.

A current unrestricted NSW Driver's License and willingness to travel are also essential requirements for this position.

We are committed to delivering on our Reconciliation Action Plan and Closing the Gap on health and wellbeing disparities amongst First Nations Australians. This role is only available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

About You:
  • You must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
