Position Overview

Location: Eliwana - Fortescue's Eliwana mine operates on the ancestral lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

Work Schedule: 2/1 - 7D7N7X FIFO from Perth or Busselton

As a ROM/Road Train Supervisor, you will be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence and safety at our mining site. Your responsibilities will include overseeing field operations, managing contractors, and enhancing the efficiency of our road train fleet. We seek an experienced leader with a strong focus on safety and a dedication to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and effective supervision of a Load and Haul production team, including coaching and developing personnel.
  • Exhibit visible leadership by consistently demonstrating safe practices and embodying Fortescue's values while managing the mining fleet's effective use.
  • Lead field operations to achieve production goals and ensure compliance with operational schedules.
  • Oversee contractors and support staff to guarantee adherence to safety and operational standards.
  • Promote a culture of respect, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
  • Implement stockpile management strategies and coordinate ore delivery to the road train fleet.
  • Drive operational efficiency, manage costs, and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders to execute daily mine plans safely and efficiently.
  • Support and mentor new personnel through a comprehensive development program, demonstrating a friendly and supportive approach.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in supervising mining operations, particularly in ROM and road train settings.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and incident management systems.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and manage teams effectively.
  • Commitment to Fortescue's values and a culture centered on safety and sustainability.
  • Familiarity with the WA Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
