The Role

The Assistant Accountant will report to the Senior Accountant – Australia and be responsible for assisting the finance team with month-end reporting, general ledger transactions, and reconciliations.

You will ensure that the management reporting and general ledger are accurate and delivered within the designated timeframe.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Balance Sheet
  • Maintain fixed asset registers
  • Assist with maintaining Balance Sheet Reconciliations, including prepayments, contractor accruals, clearing accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and contract liabilities.
Month End
  • Calculate and process month-end journals, including prepayments, accruals, payroll journals, etc.
  • Assist with month-end checks to ensure P&L entries are accurate.
Surveys
  • Quarterly Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys.
General

Any other items requested by the Senior Accountant, Financial Controller, Group Finance Manager, or other members of the Finance team.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. A Chartered Accountant, equivalent certification, or partial completion of the GradDipCA or equivalent program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficient in financial software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Willingness to fit into a team and help out as needed.
