We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Urban Planner to join our team at Sutherland Shire Council. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a crucial role in assessing and determining Development Applications, ensuring compliance with the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and determine Development Applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Work closely with various professionals to coordinate input on projects, set clear objectives, and monitor progress.
- Prepare and present reports to Council and external panels, enhancing your profile and expertise in the field.
- Develop and implement sustainable development strategies that protect our environment and promote community growth.
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban & Regional Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, Building, or a related field.
- A valid Class C Driver's Licence.
- General Construction Induction Card for NSW.
- Proven experience in assessment and determination of Development Applications.
- Working knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary input.
- Experience in setting work objectives and performance monitoring.
- A competitive salary package of $85,500 - $ gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
- A 35-hour per week permanent full-time position with the option of a 19-day month flexitime arrangement.
