The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solicitor to join our premier Band 1 Capital Market Transactions team in Melbourne. The team undertakes both capital markets work and public and private M&A, and is currently advising Chemist Warehouse on its landmark merger with Sigma.

As a member of our team, you will have exposure to some of the best and highest profile initial public offerings, capital raisings, and mergers and acquisitions in Australia, as well as a significant volume of cross-border transactions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Be involved in all aspects of corporate ECM and public and private M&A transactions, including drafting and negotiating key transaction documents and providing advice on all areas of the transaction to clients.
  • Work closely with our clients, their other advisers, and regulators to ensure key deadlines are met.
  • Assist in building external client relationships, including business development activities for key existing clients and new clients.

Requirements

  • Be an admitted Lawyer in Australia or New Zealand.
  • Possess at least 3 years' experience in a leading corporate M&A practice or equivalent, with exposure to ECM transactions.
  • An excellent academic record, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of, and contributor to, our leading and supportive team.
  • An ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously.
  • A genuine passion for corporate law, with a natural desire for continuous learning.
