Senior Learning and Development Specialist

The Australian Government Department of Home Affairs is seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Senior Learning and Development Specialist in the ABF College. This role plays a critical part in delivering training programs for Border Force Officer Recruit Trainees (BFORTs) and ensuring they have the necessary skills to support day-one operations at Western Sydney International Airport (WSI).
As a Senior Learning and Development Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of activities, including:
- Delivering, managing, and continually improving ABF College training programs for BFORTs;
- Managing a team of BFORT trainers and recruits during classroom phase of the BFORT program;
- Assisting in setting priorities and ensuring quality of outputs for the work area;
- Supporting complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals;
- Developing and/or managing stakeholder relationships and providing advice where necessary;
- Facilitating business support activities for teams and other work areas, identifying risks, and determining appropriate courses of action to meet stakeholder needs;
- Coordinating resources, monitoring, and recording all training.
You will be an essential part of establishing a workforce that can effectively support operations from day one at WSI.
