Quick Staff UK is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join its client on a permanent basis. Based in the Blackwood area, the successful candidate will work for an established manufacturing organisation. The Toolmaker will be responsible for the repair, modification, and maintenance of existing production tooling, as well as the manufacture of jigs, fixtures, and new plastic injection mould tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

* Planned preventative maintenance and servicing of plastic injection mould tooling.
* Improvement of tooling to ensure optimal performance.
* Conducting safety checks and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
* Resolving breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimize production downtime.
* Working safely at all times, in line with company procedures.
* Safeguarding company resources and assets.
* Communicating effectively with production and other stakeholders within the company.
* Collaborating with external contractors as needed.
* Assisting with the procurement of Toolroom stock.
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
* Working independently and as part of a team, adhering to a shift pattern.

Key Requirements:

* City and Guilds 228 qualification.
* NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering.
* Experience with milling, turning, and grinding.
* Time served apprenticeship in a related field.
* Experience with plastic injection mould tooling.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Ability to make informed decisions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Working Hours:

* Monday to Friday
* No weekends, bank holidays, or night shifts
* 6am-2pm (Early), 8.30am-4.30pm (Days), 2pm-10pm (Afters)
* Shift pattern: 5 rotations (Days/Days/Early/Days/Afters)

Salary:

* £36,432 per annum
