Energy Market Specialist

AEMO's Electricity Market Monitoring (EMM) team requires a skilled energy market specialist to drive performance improvement in the National Electricity Market (NEM). As a key member of our Operational Support division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring AEMO operates the NEM efficiently.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will:
- Lead the EMM team in delivering high-quality monitoring and reporting services
- Provide technical expertise on matters related to the central dispatch process in the NEM
- Contribute to the development of business cases for new projects and initiatives
- Mentor and develop a small team of market analysts
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in an analytical discipline
- Significant experience in electricity markets and power system operation
- Ability to analyze data using complex relational database systems
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences
