Refrigeration Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of cooling installations in our storage facilities.

  • Ensure that all cooling systems are up to date, efficient and safe
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks, providing detailed reporting and ongoing supervision of refrigeration contracts and subcontracts on site
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance and Operations Manager to minimize downtime
  • Ensure the completion of various installation projects
  • Train and supervise new Maintenance Technicians
  • Develop instructional materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software to maintain records and schedules
  • Support facility management efforts
  • Hold a trade certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
  • Possess mechanical aptitude with over 3 years of industrial work experience
  • Be comfortable working in cold store environments (-23 degrees Celsius)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, with training provided on our warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Meet physical demands of the role, including working at heights
  • Demonstrate high motivation and enthusiasm
