About the Role:

Northcott is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Toowoomba team on a full-time permanent basis. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide timely, evidence-based, person-centred therapy services to children and adults with a disability within a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a paediatric and mixed caseload with complex and varied needs, working with customers of all ages, their families and carers to identify strengths, skills and goals.
  • Use appropriate assessment tools and methods to assess strengths and areas of development, in order to identify suitable intervention strategies.
  • Deliver therapy in a variety of environments, e.g. centre based, schools/preschools, group homes, homes and via telehealth.
  • Contribute proactively to the ongoing development of professional knowledge and skills within the Occupational Therapy profession.

Northcott Therapy provides support to children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disability, physical disability, autism and global developmental delay. Our therapy services are conducted in a family-centred way to enable customers to live as independently as possible at home, in education or work and in the community.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy with AHPRA registration.
  • Knowledge of strengths-based practice, as well as family and person-centred approaches.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based therapy to a paediatric, adolescent and/or adult caseload.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and administrative responsibilities in an autonomous, efficient and effective manner.
  • An understanding of the NDIS framework and working within a fee for service model is desired.
