Embrace Orthodontists Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist to join our exceptional team in Canberra.
Position Overview:
- Conduct thorough oral health assessments and develop tailored care plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensure compliance with clinical protocols and standards.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in oral health therapy and dental hygiene practices.
- Collaborate effectively with the dental team to provide a seamless and positive patient experience.
- Develop and implement educational programs to promote oral health awareness among children, parents, and the community.
- Perform preventative dental procedures under the supervision of an Orthodontist.
- Administer fluoride therapy and desensitising agents to promote healthy teeth and gums.
- Remove deposits from teeth to maintain optimal oral hygiene.
- Apply non-invasive fissure sealants to teeth to prevent decay.
- Take impressions of the mouth for orthodontic appliances.
- Perform dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in diagnosis.
- Administer local anaesthesia to ensure patient comfort during procedures.
- Fabricate retainers and custom mouth guards to ensure a precise fit.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Oral Health Therapy or Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in clinical work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
