Job Opportunity:

  • As a senior paralegal, you will provide high-level support to the Office of the Registrar General in ensuring the integrity of the NSW land title system.
  • You will be responsible for conducting litigation and preparing policy advice, as well as regulating the concession of NSW' land titles registry and overseeing providers of electronic conveyancing services in NSW.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior paralegal functions to support the efficient operation of the Office of the Registrar General.
  • Act as a professional point of contact with staff and key stakeholders by responding to enquiries and providing information and advice in an effective and responsive manner.
  • Assist with preparation of draft legal advisings, Ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, court documents, and briefs to Counsel.
  • Undertake legal research and filing of documents in Court.
  • Maintain accurate records in legal information systems in accordance with records management policies and procedures and confidentiality/privacy requirements.
  • Assist with preparation of presentations, consultation papers, and other stakeholder engagement materials using PowerPoint and other Office365 tools.
  • Provide general administrative and business support, including setting up meetings and taking minutes of meetings.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary legal studies or experience working as a paralegal or lawyer, ideally in a litigation or property practice.
  • Take initiative, pay attention to detail, and work effectively as part of a team.
