Fabrication Manager Job Opportunity

Are you a seasoned Fabrication professional seeking a new challenge? Do you have a passion for leading high-performing teams and delivering complex projects on time?

We are currently seeking an experienced Fabrication Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Integrated Engineering Services division, you will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication process, ensuring that all projects meet our high standards for quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of skilled Electronics technicians to deliver a wide range of unique electronics and electrical system projects.
  2. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to define project technical scope, schedule, and budget.
  3. Ensure that all staff are suitably qualified and accredited to perform relevant work.
  4. Provide accurate fabrication estimates and quotes for clients.
  5. Manage staff resources and assign to projects to achieve financial utilization targets.
  6. Ensure design and fabrication work is supplied with relevant certificates of conformance/compliance.
  7. Ensure Electronics technicians accurately manage configuration of all designs.
  8. Ensure the Electronics workshop has the appropriate equipment, tools, and materials at all times.
  9. Participate in meetings at all levels.
  10. Manage the goals, performance, and ongoing development of the Electronics fabrication team.
  11. Establish trusted relationships with business clients to identify new business opportunities.
  12. Ensure all Electronics fabrication is implemented safely and according to both QinetiQ and regulatory Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification in electronics with either a Technician or Engineering background.
  • Relevant fabrication experience.
  • Previous staff management experience.
  • Ability to cope with change effectively and shift gears comfortably.
  • Dedicated to meeting expectations and requirements of internal and external customers while establishing and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Can be counted on to exceed goals and determination to succeed.
