Key Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the activation and optimisation of QUT's retail, commercial and public spaces.

This key role will involve initiating, leading and managing projects that drive commercial income and meet organisational needs and objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily retail and commercial property operations, formulating and delivering leasing strategies, retailer presentation and operations, campus retail tenancy mix, and providing advice and reporting on property related matters.

To succeed in this role, you will require education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications in a related discipline, combined with relevant experience in retail and commercial property services, leasing, operations, finance and budgeting, and contract management. You will also need to have demonstrated success in identifying, establishing, leading and managing high-impact and high-value retail initiatives, organisation-wide projects, events and initiatives.

You will be required to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the organisation's goals and objectives. This will involve working closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop business cases, and implement solutions that drive commercial outcomes. You will also need to have highly developed communication, negotiation and relationship building skills, including written and verbal presentation skills, business case development and report writing and analytical interpretation.

Essential Skills:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a related discipline
  • Relevant experience in retail and commercial property services, leasing, operations, finance and budgeting, and contract management
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, establishing, leading and managing high-impact and high-value retail initiatives
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and relationship building skills
