About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Childcare Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0 to 6.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare daily menus, taking into account dietary requirements and restrictions
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to our centre's nutrition guidelines
  • Order stock as required, ensuring minimal waste and optimal usage
  • Engage with educators, children, and families to foster a sense of community and involvement in healthy eating practices

Requirements

  • Commercial Cookery Qualifications / Certificate III or higher
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Previous experience in childcare preferred, with a focus on nutrition and meal planning
  • Ability to cater for dietary requirements and restrictions, including Anaphylaxis, Allergies, and Intolerances
  • Experience in planning nutritionally balanced meals in line with the Healthy Together Achievement Program
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Current Working with Children check, First-Aid Certificate, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis training
