Job Details

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing care and support to NDIS participants and elderly individuals in their homes or community settings. You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure overall well-being.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalised care and support to NDIS participants and elderly clients in their homes or community settings.
  • Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation.
  • Supporting clients with mobility, medication reminders, and companionship.
  • Planning and preparing nutritious meals according to clients' dietary requirements.
  • Transporting clients to appointments, social activities, and community outings using your own vehicle.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
  • Fostering a positive and supportive environment for clients, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Collaborating with the care team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, client-centred care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A reliable vehicle with a valid full driver's license.
  • Experience in providing care and support to NDIS participants or elderly individuals (preferred but not essential).
  • The ability to cook and prepare meals according to clients' dietary needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and reliability with a genuine passion for helping others.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and evenings if required.
  • A Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability Support, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of NDIS guidelines and aged care standards.
  • Experience working with clients with complex needs or disabilities.
