Enhance the Student Experience Through Visual Communications

The University of Newcastle is seeking a talented Student Engagement Designer to help drive the student experience through innovative visual communications and storytelling.

This fixed term position is a one-year parental leave cover, full time, and will be based at our University Campus.

About the Position

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy to enhance the student experience and engagement.
  • Design and deliver high-quality visual communications across print, digital, and social media channels.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to produce clear, timely, and effective messaging that resonates with students.

Your Key Skills and Qualifications

  1. A degree in a visual communication or design discipline; or completion of an associate diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of professional administration experience and education/training.
  2. Experience in delivering engaging and high-quality visual communications using traditional and new technologies (ideally including the Adobe Creative Suite) to maximise the effectiveness of current student engagement and exceed their expectations.
  3. Excellent time management skills, with demonstrated experience in juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  4. Demonstrated ability to maintain information integrity, show attention to detail, and proactively resolve problems.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work flexibly, independently, and as an effective team member contributing to goals of the portfolio.
