About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to lead our kitchen team at MiCare, a leading provider of aged care services. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing menus that meet the nutritional needs of our residents while ensuring that the food is always appetizing and reflects their preferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the kitchen team to ensure high-quality food service and adherence to Aged Care quality standards.
  • Plan menus in consultation with the General Manager of Residential Services and Dietitian to ensure nutritional needs are met.
  • Manage catering supplies and ensure they are ordered, maintained, and stored in accordance with relevant regulations and food safety requirements.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality food service.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring that all kitchen staff follow proper food handling and preparation procedures.
  • Monitor and report on kitchen operations, including food costs, inventory, and staff performance.

Requirements

  • Qualified Chef with a current certificate in food safety supervisor/food handling.
  • Management experience in a similar role, preferably in an aged care or healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to motivate and direct staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and requirements in relation to food services.
