Opportunity Overview:

The successful applicant will be part of our Gold Fields team, working closely with our international team of professionals. This apprenticeship will provide extensive on-the-job training as well as formal TAFE training to support the development of the required skills to successfully complete the requirements of an apprenticeship in an Electrical trade.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Reporting to the Electrical Coordinator, you will be responsible for gaining and developing the required skills to successfully complete the requirements of an apprenticeship in an Electrical trade.
2. Extensive on the job training as well as formal TAFE training will be provided to support your development throughout the journey.
3. Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
4. Develop individual capacity to qualify as a tradesperson by undertaking all aspects of formal and informal training that is aligned to the Apprenticeship training plan outline and site requirements as directed by site training personnel.
5. Applying underpinning knowledge and skills gained through the apprentice training program to enhance the reliability, serviceability and availability of site equipment and infrastructure relevant to your trade.
6. Ensuring a safe work environment by maintaining your work area in a clean, tidy and hazard free state.
7. Using the site safety management system to report all hazards and incidents.
8. Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the maintenance team by providing support and assistance as directed.

Requirements:

• Completion of Year 10 (including Mathematics)
• Sound communication and computer literacy skills
• WA Manual Drivers License
• Applied First Aid certificate (desirable)
• A genuine interest and general understanding of the Electrical trade
• Successful completion of a Certificate II Pre Apprenticeship in Electrical would be highly regarded
