**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a permanent full-time Academic Department Head to join our senior school. The successful applicant will have responsibility for ensuring students undertaking courses within the department are academically challenged and stimulated in a safe, inclusive and compassionate learning environment.

The ideal candidate will be proactive in providing an academically challenging, stimulating and safe environment for students to succeed and flourish. They will foster a commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and sharing of knowledge and information with colleagues.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of a Senior School teacher, upholding the school's values, motto and mission as detailed in staff policies and the Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Be proactive in implementing pedagogical leadership by embedding assessment for learning, quality differentiation in response to student diversity, intercultural competencies and restorative practices in the classroom.
  • Lead the development of differentiation practices to ensure learning is accessible to all students and work collaboratively with the student services team on assessment and programming support for diverse learners.

**Faculty Leadership Role:** The Department Head will be responsible for leading, coordinating and managing all aspects of teaching and learning in the department, including the implementation of new courses and programmes.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
