Electrical and Telecommunications Mentor Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional to work with prevocational students and apprentices in the electrical and telecommunications trade.

The Australian Trade Training College is committed to delivering high-quality training in the electrotechnology trades. As a mentor, you will work alongside a qualified trade trainer whilst being supported in obtaining your certificate IV in training and assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students studying the certificate II in electrotechnology with practical activities and training milestones
  • Use your industry knowledge and skills to instill in students to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workplace
  • Assure all equipment for student use is kept in good and safe operational condition
  • Assist trainer with daily activities throughout their training through use of student management and expectations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification/trade certificate and industry currency in the electrical, telecommunications or renewable energy industry
  • Ability to engage, inspire and support students throughout their learning
  • Agree to completing the certificate IV in training and assessment
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Moderate level of computer skills (MS word and excel)
