Catering Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Catering Assistant to assist with food preparation, customer service, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment at our aged care site.

The ideal candidate will have experience assisting in kitchens, food preparation, and/or customer service. They should be able to work well independently and as part of a team, pride in personal appearance and hygiene, and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist with food preparation, including meal planning, grocery shopping, and food storage
  2. Provide exceptional customer service to residents, including serving meals and snacks, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional manner
  3. Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, including cleaning equipment, utensils, and dining areas
  4. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene practices
  5. Work effectively during busy periods, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently
Requirements
  • Experience in food preparation, customer service, or a related field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Pride in personal appearance and hygiene
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
