About the Role

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled SUAS Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Cargo Helicopter and Uncrewed Surveillance Program Office, you will be responsible for performing complex electronics-electrical engineering work within an integrated workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and analyse electrical/electronics and engineering concepts to ensure compliance with legislative frameworks and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
  • Deliver and manage specifications and resources in support of the Defence materiel capability lifecycle.
  • Investigate, analyse and report on electrical-electronics engineering defects and requirements.
  • Develop and implement recommendations and advice to address issues.
  • Work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of your work.
  • Exercise initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.
  • Provide detailed electronics-electrical engineering technical and professional advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify, anticipate and respond to their needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
About Our Team

The Cargo Helicopter and Uncrewed Surveillance Program Office delivers through-life support for the CH-47F Chinook and Army Aviation System Branch supported fleet of Uncrewed Aerial Systems. Our team is responsible for managing and delivering the acquisition of a range of Uncrewed Aerial Systems, including operator and aircrew training systems for Army.

What We're Looking For
  • A highly motivated and experienced electronics-electrical engineer with a strong understanding of complex engineering concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and contribute to team work.
  • Ability to work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of your work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate and analyse electrical/electronics and engineering concepts.
  • Ability to develop and implement recommendations and advice to address issues.
