Qualifications & Experience
- You will need proven experience as a Truck Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic.
- A relevant trade certification is required.
- Knowledge of Japanese trucks is highly advantageous.
- An HR licence is desirable but not essential.
- You should possess strong problem-solving abilities and quick-thinking skills.
- Time management and organisational skills are also essential.
- A high degree of integrity and a commitment to safety are necessary.
- Outstanding customer service and rapport-building capabilities are expected.
- You may be required to mentor and coach apprentices and trainees.
Job Responsibilities
- Your key responsibilities will include inspecting and repairing diesel-engine vehicles.
- You will safely operate tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment.
- Routine repairs like oil and tyre changes will be part of your duties.
- You will accurately interpret diagnostic test results.
- You must create and explain detailed inspection reports and repair plans to customers.
- You will advise customers on repair options and costs.
- Training and mentoring apprentices and junior staff will be a key part of your role.
- Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations is essential.
- Collaborating with other mechanics to achieve service excellence is expected.
