Qualifications & Experience

  • You will need proven experience as a Truck Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic.
  • A relevant trade certification is required.
  • Knowledge of Japanese trucks is highly advantageous.
  • An HR licence is desirable but not essential.
  • You should possess strong problem-solving abilities and quick-thinking skills.
  • Time management and organisational skills are also essential.
  • A high degree of integrity and a commitment to safety are necessary.
  • Outstanding customer service and rapport-building capabilities are expected.
  • You may be required to mentor and coach apprentices and trainees.

Job Responsibilities

  • Your key responsibilities will include inspecting and repairing diesel-engine vehicles.
  • You will safely operate tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Routine repairs like oil and tyre changes will be part of your duties.
  • You will accurately interpret diagnostic test results.
  • You must create and explain detailed inspection reports and repair plans to customers.
  • You will advise customers on repair options and costs.
  • Training and mentoring apprentices and junior staff will be a key part of your role.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations is essential.
  • Collaborating with other mechanics to achieve service excellence is expected.
