Lead Engineer – Mechanical

Fortescue is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer - Mechanical to join our Engineering & Reliability team. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers, providing senior technical advice and ensuring adherence to asset management principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of reliability engineers, overseeing personnel management, training, succession planning, and recruitment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture, developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and task lists.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance, shutdown, and project teams, monitoring and improving departmental KPIs including reliability, decarbonisation, and operational excellence metrics.
  • Act as Control Owner for Critical Risks Management, ensuring effective mitigation measures and compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in reliability engineering and technical team leadership, with a strong knowledge of asset management principles, reliability metrics, and relevant legislation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and SAP, with excellent analytical, communication, and collaborative skills.
