Senior Accountant Role Overview

This position is ideal for a seasoned accountant seeking to leverage their technical expertise in financial reporting and internal controls. As a Financial Reporting Accountant, you will play a crucial role in delivering accurate and compliant financial reports, aligned with SOX, IFRS, and AASB standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing internal controls, liaising with auditors, and providing strong governance processes to support reliable financial reporting. With a background in public practice or commercial accounting, you will excel in this role, which offers exciting career paths within an APAC Finance HQ environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining internal controls and risk management initiatives to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Preparing daily cash flow monitoring and forecasting, as well as periodic reporting.
  • Preparing financial statements for statutory compliance and managing audit work.
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly statutory and regulatory reports.
  • Completing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing monthly payroll reporting.
  • Compiling detailed audit working papers as requested by senior finance leaders and acting as a key liaison with external auditors.

About the Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an experienced accountant with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce and CA/CPA certifications.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in technical financial accounting/reporting roles.
  • Experience within an international organization and exposure to IFRS or Sarbanes Oxley reporting requirements.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and ERP systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt communication styles to suit different stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
