About the Centre

We are a not-for-profit community-based long day care centre in Campsie, focusing on supporting children to learn, grow and develop within a flexible play-based learning environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work within a specific room or group of children and provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing early childhood programs that contribute to educational and developmental outcomes for children
  • Closely observing children's behaviour, interactions and achievements to assess their individual progress
  • Ensuring the safety, health and wellbeing of children
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging positive peer interactions and helping children understand and manage their emotions
  • Fostering good relationships between parents, staff and other organisations on behalf of Prospero Teaching
  • Completing observation records and updating charts through an online communication system

The successful candidate must have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA equivalent), current Child Protection, First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, experience working within a childcare environment and a sound understanding of the EYLF.
