We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Health and Safety Advisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving health and safety procedures, plans, and documents.
The RoleThis is a site-based role with a 2/1 FIFO roster from Perth. The incumbent will report to the HSE Supervisor and will play a critical role in driving health and safety performance on site.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Participating in the development, maintenance, and improvement of health and safety procedures, plans, and documents;
- Coaching team leaders and contracted workers in health and safety processes;
- Leading and participating in health and safety audits and inspections;
- Providing operational support to the Project Team;
- Facilitating, assisting, and coaching event investigations;
- Supporting site leadership in closing out corrective actions and communicating lessons learned;
- Participating in risk assessments and prestart safety reviews;
- Collaborating with stakeholders to promote a positive health and safety culture;
- Assisting in timely and accurate report compilation;
- Attending and contributing to meetings on health and safety performance.
To be successful in this role, the incumbent will require:
- A Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent);
- A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (highly desirable);
- A strong understanding of Australian OHS legislation;
- Good safety systems and reporting skills;
- Extensive experience in construction, preferably in renewable or mining industries.
