Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced cleaner to join our team at the Newcastle Mater Hospital.

The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive cleaning team to ensure the cleanliness of the hospital, providing genuine service and care to patients and visitors.

The role involves general hospital cleaning duties such as discharge cleaning, ward cleaning, collection of waste, receiving requests to assist with urgent cleans or additional tasks around the hospital, use of carpet extractor and steam cleaning machines, and washing of external surfaces and furniture.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • An excellent eye for detail and well-presented appearance
  • Able to work on own but also within a team environment
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience within a hospital or aged care environment highly regarded
  • Willingsness to obtain a National Police Check Clearance and provide proof of immunity for vaccine preventable diseases
