Care Support Worker Job Description

Care support workers play a vital role in providing essential support and care to individuals in their own homes, enabling them to maintain their dignity and independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care: Provision of personal care and daily hygiene including bathing, dressing, and using the bathroom.
  • Domestic Assistance: Domestic assistance such as making beds, tidying rooms, preparation and cooking of meals for clients with specific dietary needs.
  • Transportation: Transporting clients to appointments and assisting with shopping, ensuring safe transportation and accessibility for clients with limited mobility.
  • Medication Management: Monitoring or prompting medication use and using equipment for clients who require assistance with managing their medications.

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent qualification, a current driver's license, first aid certification, and eligibility to work in Australia. They should also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience when working with clients.
