Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Technician to join our team at Glencore. As a Mine Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and installing safety technological systems within the mining area, including Operator Alertness System (OAS), Collision Avoidance System (CAS), and Geotechnical Monitoring instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Installation: Maintain and install safety technological systems, including OAS, CAS, and Geotechnical Monitoring instrumentation.
  • Communication Systems: Install and maintain VHF/UHF communications and mobile fleet management system hardware and software.
  • Technical Expertise: Install and commission High Precision Machine Guidance Systems and Fleet Management Systems.
  • Network Maintenance: Install and maintain point-to-point microwave and Rajant WiFi mesh systems and associated applications.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular inspections to ensure equipment meets safe working requirements.
  • Database Management: Assist with mining databases and reporting.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain communication and Fleet Management System parts inventory.
About You

We are looking for a technically minded individual with experience in maintaining Wi-Fi mesh networks and exposure to safety systems such as OAS and CAS. You should have experience installing, maintaining, and fault-finding radio communications equipment and Fleet Management Systems. Additionally, you should have an aptitude for learning technical material and be detail-oriented.
