Role Overview

The role of a perioperative registered nurse is to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with established standards and protocols.

This involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide optimal care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centered nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Coordinate the perioperative team to ensure efficient and effective operation of the surgical unit.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to perioperative care.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or experience in perioperative nursing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
