Role Overview
As a valued member of the Calvary Home Care team, you will utilize your expertise as a Registered Nurse to deliver care to clients with high acuity needs across various short-term and long-term programs. Your role will involve providing intricate care to all clients, working both autonomously and collaboratively within a team. Benefits include AM/PM shifts, full-time or part-time opportunities, and ongoing education and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer IV, IM, SC, and PO medications
- Perform IV Cannulation
- Deliver complex wound care
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in all client records
- Communicate effectively within the clinical team to guarantee optimal care
- Conduct initial assessments and develop care plans to achieve the best outcomes for clients
- Monitor and revise care plans to ensure appropriate care delivery
- Provide education to clients and their families to promote the best possible outcomes
- Recognize and respond to clinical deterioration with appropriate escalation
Qualifications and Skills
- Current AHPRA Nursing Registration
- Willingness to obtain necessary checks – NDIS and Police Clearance
- Access to a personal vehicle – KM allowance provided
- Valid driver's license
- CPR and Manual Handling certifications
- A minimum of 1 year of acute care experience
- Understanding of community nursing sectors such as Home Care Packages, Department of Veteran Affairs, and Commonwealth Home Support Program is advantageous
