Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 3, ensuring all internal and external financial reporting and filings are completed accurately and on time. They will also lead the tax accounting aspects of entities in partnership with the Tax team and oversee GL account maintenance.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commercial mindset. They should have experience in process and systems enhancements, particularly with technology change initiatives, and be proficient in accounting systems such as NetSuite.

In addition, the Financial Control Manager will identify continuous improvement opportunities in processes, controls, and workpapers, and ensure these are well documented. They will also support Group Finance with all reporting requirements and accounting policies/papers.

The estimated salary for this position is around $150,000-$180,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 3 and provide guidance on individual development plans
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of internal and external financial reporting and filings
  • Lead tax accounting aspects of entities in partnership with the Tax team
  • Oversee GL account maintenance, including recording complex transactions and maintaining required changes to the GL framework
  • Manage intercompany settlements and related allocations from the Group Finance team
  • Deal with internal and external partners to ensure quality and type of data provided is at the required level needed for statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Manage consolidation and reconciliations of data from various sources needed for accurate and timely reporting
Requirements:
  • CA/CPA certification or equivalent
  • 10+ years' experience in financial control, with a proven ability to lead successful teams
  • Experience in process and systems enhancements, particularly with technology change initiatives
  • Experience with accounting systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commercial mindset
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with ability to package information clearly and concisely
