This role is an ideal starting point for final year students, recent graduates, or individuals embarking on their careers in radio. You will be responsible for maintaining some of Australia's largest radio shows, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality broadcasts. As an AV Tech, you will have the chance to work closely with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in operating and maintaining studio equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to the execution of live broadcasts. This role provides a solid foundation for those looking to develop their skills in broadcasting, signal transmission, and information technology.

About the role:

Broadcasting and Technical Studio Equipment
  • Ensure the effective functioning of broadcasting and streaming equipment, both within studios and production environments, by responding to and resolving any technical malfunctions or operator issues.
  • Ensure the preventative maintenance schedule for broadcasting and technical equipment is adhered to, in accordance with quality standards, policy, and priorities.
  • Document any additions or changes to infrastructure clearly and accurately.
Radio Transmitter Sites
  • Ensure the effective operation of ARN's radio transmitter sites and transmission signals by monitoring signals and fail-safe systems.
  • Adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule by inspecting technical equipment and transmitter building sites, in accordance with quality standards, policy, and priorities.
IT Facilities and Office Equipment
  • Provide hardware and software support for all computer systems.
  • Assist IT staff to ensure hardware and software support for computers to resolve user issues.
