Emergency Services Officer

This role involves providing emergency, medical, and health services to a mine site. The work schedule is 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO from Perth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain emergency equipment in a state of readiness.
  • Provide ongoing training to the Emergency Response Team through regular practice scenarios.
  • Ensure the Incident Management Team is fully briefed and aware of their responsibilities and duties regarding incident management.
  • Respond to emergency calls and initial incident reports, mobilizing assistance as needed and coordinating the ERT at the incident.
  • Coordinate site entry requirements, including approval of pre-employment medicals.
  • Participate in workplace inspections and auditing.
  • Conduct drug and alcohol testing as directed.
  • Coordinate return-to-work (RTW) for injured workers.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role in underground mining with mine rescue, emergency response, and site medic responsibilities.
  • Experience in delivering training.
  • Experience leading an Emergency Response Team.
  • Nationally accredited drug and alcohol testing training.
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated recent competence in closed circuit breathing apparatus, open circuit breathing apparatus, fire suppression, Hazmat, rope rescue, and vehicle extrication.
  • National Police Check (valid within the last 12 months).
  • Previous experience in mineral processing environments, preferably gold.
