About Us
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is a leading emergency service agency responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland. Our mission is to provide effective prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities in emergency situations.
We are comprised of the Fire and Rescue Service, Rural Fire Service, and State Emergency Service, working together with volunteer groups to provide emergency response services to Queenslanders.
Our collaborative approach across the service and with key stakeholders delivers improved safety outcomes for the community.
Purpose of the Role
The functions of the QFES are unique, as we are the only entity in Australia that delivers high-quality fire, rescue, emergency, and disaster management services through a single agency.
This requires a team of dedicated individuals who can respond to emergencies, promote community safety, and participate in regular drills and training sessions.
Your Key Accountabilities
- As a member of our team, you will respond to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting a positive team approach and adhering to organisational health principles and procedures.
- You will contribute to community education activities, developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training courses.
- Additionally, you will maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training, operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively, and contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.
- As an important part of our station team, you will also ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities, contribute to incident reporting and general station administration, and communicate effectively with QFES personnel, other emergency service providers, and the general community.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per annum
