About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker Grade 2 to join our Monash Newborn service at Monash Children's Hospital, based at Clayton. This is a unique opportunity to work in a supportive and professional team, providing specialized services to infant, paediatric and adolescent patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychosocial assessment, problem solving, communication and discharge planning skills to support patients and families.
  • Support families in both acute and chronic illness situations, providing grief and bereavement support as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Allied Health team to provide holistic care and a systems approach.
  • Participate in Social Work on-call after hour's service across the Monash Hospital sites.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years clinical social work experience.
  • Bachelor of Social Work or Masters Social Work Qualifying OR Master of Social Work, OR equivalent as assessed and approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Eligible for ordinary membership of AASW.
  • Experience in an acute healthcare setting and/or with children and families and/or with Child Protection.
