About the Role
This is an exciting chance to join our Sustainability team and contribute to reducing our environmental impact. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on emissions accounting and supporting our Decarbonisation and Circularity strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Strategy Implementation: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the Stockland upfront carbon process is followed, and upfront carbon emissions are assessed in line with our methodology and GHG Protocol guidance.
- Collateral Development: Assist the Group Environmental Sustainability Manager in creating guidance documents, templates, and case studies that provide clarity on our strategy and enhance capability across the business.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal stakeholders (development teams, project management teams, asset managers, national operations) to understand progress, implementation challenges, and innovative solutions.
Reporting and Monitoring:
- Internal and External Reporting: Support periodic reporting efforts on decarbonisation and circularity metrics.
- Emissions Inventory: Prepare an annual basis of preparation documenting the methodology, data sources, and assumptions underlying our scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions inventory.
- Policy Updates: Support the Group Environmental Sustainability Manager in drafting updates to the business on policy and regulatory developments relating to environmental sustainability.
About You:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in emissions accounting, including the application of the GHG Protocol, and the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS), preferably within the property sector.
- Demonstrated experience in data management and analytics.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement to canvas input and/or buy-in to deliver on sustainability targets.
- Experience in effective management of external service providers.
- Awareness of emerging environmental sustainability standards and disclosure requirements.
- Self-organised with strong planning and change/project management skills, and able to handle multiple, time-sensitive projects, to deliver in the context of competing priorities.
The Opportunity: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane.
