Role Overview

Shell Energy is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Advanced Analytics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data science-based products to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal departments to work on a broad range of problems such as customer segmentation, customer churn prediction, load behaviour analysis and forecasting, demand response analysis, and energy optimisation.
  • Develop and maintain data science-based products to deliver Shell Energy's strategy and objectives.
  • Work in an Agile Software Development environment, defining project scope, estimating work effort, allocating resources and managing stakeholder expectations to a credible plan.
  • Utilise cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, to deploy and manage data products.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience in one or more programming languages, software design patterns, development methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD practices.
  • Proficiency in Python and data science-related libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, and Plotly.
  • Deep knowledge of statistical and predictive modelling concepts, machine-learning approaches, clustering, classification and regression techniques, and optimisation algorithms.
  • Knowledge of the electricity market and building energy efficiency.
  • Familiarity with relational databases querying and NoSQL databases, including database design and querying languages.
