As a leading English language institution, we are seeking highly skilled and motivated casual teachers to join our team. The role of an ELICOS teacher is multifaceted and requires a strong ability to engage students in their language studies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring best practice in teaching methodologies, classroom management, assessment, and the use of educational technology. They will also mediate between the curriculum and student goals and needs, supporting academic progress and satisfaction.

Casual ELICOS teachers will represent our core values internally and externally, upholding a collaborative and supportive staffroom ethos. They will participate actively in sector Communities of Practice and Special Interest Groups, contributing to ongoing professional development.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support students in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a variety of multimodal ELICOS classes
  • Work collaboratively with Head Teachers and other ILSC Teachers
  • Prepare and upload clear lesson plans prior to each lesson
  • Analyze student goals and needs against set learning outcomes
  • Implement a student-centred teaching philosophy to enhance engagement
  • Develop new resources and technologies to improve classroom learning
  • Provide regular formative feedback and summative academic progress reports
  • Complete all teaching-related administration accurately and within deadlines
  • Attend and actively participate in Session Meetings & Professional Development Sessions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent qualification
  • English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE etc.)
  • Teaching certification or diploma (TESOL/TESL/CELTA etc.)
  • Strong IT skills and experience with educational technology
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances
