We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to lead our development team in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. As a key member of our engineering practice, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the robust infrastructure and services that power global logistics.

Our goal is to improve the efficiency of global supply chains through innovation, offering a platform that brings together all aspects of logistics from origin to destination. We invest heavily in product development, with over $1 billion invested in the last five years, leading to more than 100 product enhancements to our CargoWise platform.

Job Overview
  • Average salary: AU$180,000 - AU$250,000 per annum

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leading the design and architecture of large-scale, distributed systems that meet high performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
  2. Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  3. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  4. Driving best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, and documentation.
  5. Providing expert-level problem-solving and debugging skills, addressing complex issues and optimizing performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of hands-on experience in developing enterprise-grade software.
  • Proficiency in languages such as C#, Java, C++, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
  • Excellent technical design, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Solid computer science fundamentals, with extensive experience in object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns.
  • Proven track record in architecting and delivering large-scale systems.
  • Experience mentoring and leading teams, with a passion for developing talent.
