About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in North Sydney. As a key member of our payroll unit, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality payroll services to our clients.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Australian payroll laws and regulations, as well as experience with payroll software such as Keypay, Cloud Payroll, and Xero. You will be responsible for processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls, meeting strict deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.

In addition to your technical skills, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll across various industries in Australia
  • Meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Onboard new employees and prepare termination payments
  • Manage workers compensation, PAYG payments, and superannuation
  • Bank payments and reconcile trust accounts
  • Respond to internal and external client queries professionally
  • Prepare regular reports and collaborate with junior team members
Requirements
  • 2-5 years' experience in payroll processing within Australia
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate level user of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of awards, NES, and relevant legislations (an advantage)
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company
